Firstly, sorry for posting late and lack of responses. Usually I post on Friday but it’s about 1:45 am UK time (on Saturday). I have been a little distracted as my grandfather passed away last week and I have been supporting my family.
I dedicated Skinny Dipping to my gran so I guess I’ll dedicate my next book to my grandfather as I want to remember him somehow.
The funniest memory I have is never eating my lunch in primary school. The sandwiches would collect in the bottom of my bag and go moldy. My mum wouldn’t check my bag because she was empowering my sister to take responsibility of our things. This was great news because she never had to find out about my uneaten lunch. I just needed to remove the evidence.
The issue: I would forget to dispose. The sandwiches collect at the bottom of my school bag until there were about ten and there was a need for creativity of how to dispose of the dreaded things.
My first solution was to throw them into the canal for the fish to eat. You see, they were much too moldy by now to feed them my precious beloved dog – he might have gotten sick (too bad about the fish).
My second disposal method was straight over the fence to my neighbours house. Out of sight and out of mind. Job done.
Note to thy younger self – clingflim does not disintegrate and neighbours have issues with moldy sandwiches.
Of course the neighbour had a chat to my grandfather but I never got in trouble. My grandfather spoke to me about my disposal mechanisms. I didn’t get in trouble with my parents. So thanks Grandpa for that! I owe you one or two!!
Anyway, so this week I haven’t been writing on my new book. I have learned to value the important people in my life – right now and to make sure people know that you love them.
So give that person you love a big kiss.
Thank you so much for reading everyone and God Bless.
